Insurance Claim Flooring & Water Damage Repair in Centennial, CO

If a burst pipe, a leaking water heater, an appliance failure or another covered event has damaged your home, Floor & More takes on the repair work under your insurance claim. We work from the insurance scope of work, and once the mitigation or asbestos abatement company is done, our own crew rebuilds what was damaged, from the subfloor and flooring to cabinets, trim and tile. We serve homeowners in Centennial and across the Denver Metro from our showroom on Smoky Hill Road.

What We Repair After Water Damage

  • Hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, tile and carpet that got wet and has to come out
  • Subfloor repair or replacement where water soaked into plywood or OSB
  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinets, vanities and toe kicks damaged by leaks
  • Baseboards, quarter round, door casing and other trim
  • Tile floors, showers and backsplashes
  • Stair treads and landings

We do not do water extraction, drying or asbestos removal. Those are handled by specialized mitigation and abatement companies, and we start once they have finished and the area is cleared.

How an Insurance Claim Repair Works

  1. Open your claim. Call your insurance company first and get the mitigation or abatement work done.
  2. We inspect and measure. We look at the damage, take measurements and photos, and check the subfloor and adjoining areas.
  3. You get an itemized estimate. It lists the tear-out, disposal, subfloor work, materials, installation and trim, laid out so it can be compared with the insurance scope of work.
  4. We work from the approved scope. We coordinate with the insurance adjuster and, if you have one, your public adjuster, and do the work the approved scope covers.
  5. Payment goes through you. We do not bill insurance directly. The insurance company pays you, and you pay us.
  6. We rebuild. Our own crew installs the new floors and finishes and cleans up, and we walk through the finished work with you.

Working With Your Adjuster or Public Adjuster

We are a contractor, not an adjuster. We don’t negotiate claims; we price and perform the work in the approved scope. Many of our insurance customers hire their own licensed public adjuster to help them through the claim, and we work alongside them and the insurance adjuster. Our itemized estimate and photos give everyone a clear picture of what the repair involves, which usually includes:

  • Removing and disposing of the damaged flooring and pad
  • Subfloor repair and leveling before the new floor goes down
  • Underlayment, moisture barrier or new carpet pad
  • Baseboards, quarter round, transitions and stair nosing
  • Flooring that runs continuously into undamaged rooms, when the original product can no longer be matched

Your policy and the claim decide what is covered. If you have questions about coverage, your insurance company or your public adjuster is the right person to ask.

Common Questions About Insurance Claim Repairs

Do you bill my insurance company directly?

No. Your insurance company pays you, usually by check, and you pay us for the work. We give you a detailed, itemized estimate and invoice so the paperwork lines up with your claim.

Do you work with insurance adjusters?

Yes. We work from the insurance scope of work and coordinate with the insurance adjuster and, if you have one, your public adjuster. We are a contractor, so we don’t act as a public adjuster or negotiate the claim for you.

Should I hire a public adjuster?

That’s your decision. Many of our insurance customers hire their own licensed public adjuster to help them through the claim, and we’re glad to work alongside them.

Do you do water extraction, drying or asbestos removal?

No. Drying out a home and removing asbestos are done by specialized mitigation and abatement companies. We come in after they are finished and rebuild the floors, cabinets and finishes.

Can I choose my own contractor for an insurance claim?

In most cases, yes. Your insurer may suggest contractors, but you can usually pick who does the work. Check your policy or ask your adjuster if you are not sure.

How soon can you start?

We can usually come out to measure and write an estimate before the claim is settled. The rebuild starts once the area is dry, any abatement is cleared, the scope is approved, and you are ready to move forward.
