Carpet Installation in Denver: Cost, Process and Timeline

New carpet is one of the quickest ways to refresh bedrooms, basements and family rooms. This guide answers the questions we hear most from Denver Metro homeowners: what carpet installation costs, how long it takes, how to get ready, and what happens on installation day.

What Carpet Installation Costs in Denver

Installed carpet in Denver typically runs about $3 to $8 per square foot, depending on the carpet and pad you choose. The main things that change the price:

  • Fiber: basic polyester sits at the low end; premium nylon costs more up front but lasts much longer.
  • Pad: denser pads cost a little more and extend carpet life.
  • Room shape and stairs: homes with many stairs or odd angles, common in older Littleton and Englewood homes, cost more than an open plan in a newer Parker build.
  • Removal and prep: taking out old carpet and fixing subfloor damage add labor.

We include removal and haul-away in most estimates, so the number you see is the full cost rather than a low quote that grows once work begins. The only way to get an exact price is to have us measure in person; we bring samples so you can compare price points side by side. If budget is a concern, ask about financing during your consultation.

How Long Carpet Installation Takes

  • A single bedroom or home office: usually half a day.
  • Several rooms: often a full day.
  • A typical three-bedroom home: one to two days.

Removing old flooring, moving furniture, working around stairs and tight hallways, and larger homes (common in Centennial and Highlands Ranch) all add time. We confirm a realistic schedule before work begins so you can plan around it. Most installations can be scheduled within a week or two of choosing your carpet, depending on the season.

The Installation Process

1. Measuring and ordering

After you choose a carpet, we measure precisely and order the right amount, with a small buffer for pattern matching. Materials usually arrive a day or two before installation.

2. Removing old flooring

Our crew removes and disposes of existing carpet and pad, usually the same day installation starts.

3. Pad and carpet

New pad goes down first. The carpet is then stretched and secured for a smooth, wrinkle-free finish, with extra care at doorways and transitions to other floors.

4. Final walkthrough

We walk the rooms with you to confirm everything looks right and fix any small issues before we consider the job done. Furniture we moved is put back.

How to Prepare for Installation Day

  • Clear small items: remove breakables, electronics and anything fragile. Our crew can move larger furniture.
  • Plan for pets and kids: tools, materials and open doors are not pet- or toddler-friendly. Many families plan a day out or set up a safe room.
  • Clear a path: make sure hallways and doorways to the work area are open so materials can come in and old carpet can go out.
  • Confirm the day before: double-check the appointment time and ask any last questions.

Where We Install Carpet

Our own crews install carpet across the Denver Metro, including Centennial, Aurora, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Greenwood Village, Englewood, Littleton and Castle Rock. We do not rely on rotating subcontractors, so quality stays consistent wherever you live. Our installers also understand how homes differ across the metro, from transition strips in an Aurora ranch to stairs in a Highlands Ranch two-story, and some HOA rules that affect timing.
