This master bathroom in Highlands Ranch was finished in August 2026. The room already had good bones: arched openings, columns and high ceilings. The job was to update everything inside those arches while keeping the character. No names or addresses, just the work.

What We Did
The soaking tub sits in its own arched alcove between two columns, with the tub deck and apron finished in warm large-format tile and plantation shutters above. Keeping the tub inside the alcove instead of building it out into the room keeps the floor space open.
The walk-in shower sits behind another arched opening. Its walls are linear wood-look tile running floor to ceiling, with a recessed niche set into the back wall and a matte black handheld on a slide bar. The shower floor uses matching wood-look tile in a smaller format so it can slope to the drain.
On the vanity wall: a white oak double vanity with matte black faucets and drawer pulls, two arched mirrors that echo the arches in the room, and brass sconces above each sink.

Why These Choices
Working with the arches, not against them
Homes in Highlands Ranch from this era often have arches, columns and tall ceilings in the master bath. Ripping them out adds cost and rarely improves the room. Arched mirrors and tile that runs up into the arched openings make those details look intentional instead of dated.
Warm wood tones against matte black
White oak and wood-look tile keep the room warm, and the matte black faucets, pulls and shower hardware give it contrast so it doesn’t look washed out. The brass sconces tie into the warmer tones. Mixing two metal finishes works when each one has a clear job.
Linear tile in the shower
Vertical, linear tile makes a shower feel taller, which suits a room with high ceilings. Carrying a wood-look tile onto the shower floor keeps the look consistent while staying fully waterproof.
